Our Custom Embroidery Experience

Our embroiderer, Jodi, has been with us for more than three years now. She has over 20 years experience in embroidery and is one of the best people to see at work each day. 

When she came on board, we added a brand new 6 head embroidery machine. This machine can stitch up to six items with the same logo at one time. 

In combination with Jodi's experience and technical expertise, it ensures high quality work on every item that comes out of our shop. 

As demand for our custom embroidery has increased, we brought in a second six head embroidery machine. This new machine is slightly different than our other embroidery machine in that it allows us to embroider wider designs.

Most baseball caps fall into two key categories; structured and unstructured. 

A structured cap has a stiff lining known as buckram in its crown, which holds its shape and gives it a rigid structure. It has a more polished, crisp look that looks good when worn as part of a corporate uniform. It's also a popular accessory in sports.

3 - Pay Attention to Your Logo’s Size and Placement

When ordering embroidered hats for your business, your logo’s size and placement are some of the most important aspects to consider. How your logo looks once embroidered on the hat matters more than it appears on paper.

For the best engagement with your customers, choose a bold and legible logo that makes your hat striking and recognizable. 

Ensure that its details are still visible at the size you’ve chosen. Ideally, baseball hats have their logos at about 2” tall 2” wide. But this can go as high as 2.25” or as low as 0.5”, depending on the logo’s placement. 

The most common place to add a logo on a hat is directly on the front of the hat.

But adding your logo to different locations within the hat also gives your brand exposure from multiple angles. Just ensure not to overdo it (2–3 are enough) because it may make your hat look cluttered and unprofessional.

A monogram is a design consisting of a collection of letters that represent your brand, such as your company initials. Monograms are also called letter marks, and when you write the brand name in full, they’re called a wordmark.

Monogram logos are a simple, yet powerful way to represent your brand. The biggest brands today use them—Louis Vuitton, Channel, Gucci, LG, HP, General Electric, and so many more.

Using monograms like these giants implies similar stability and reliability for your brand. Plus, monograms are great if you have a long business name!

Embroidery machines favor monogram logos because they consist of a few colors—usually one or two. They are also easy to design, having three letters at most, and no fancy detailing such as color gradients (shaded color).

As monograms are so simple, both them and wordmarks are cheap to embroider. 

This is great, considering that in landscaping work, your hats and other apparel will likely last a few months before needing replacement. This makes monogramming a cheap and functional option.

No Monograms? Embroider Your Logo, but Simplify It

If reducing your brand to a monogram doesn’t appeal to you, you can still use the brand logo for the design. However, you’ll need to simplify and optimize it as a digital file for the embroidery.

In the following table, we share a few tips on how to convert your brand’s logo into an embroidery design:
