Metroparks 16153 Genova Outside Together Shirt

With this design the Metroparks did an excellent job of combining their branding with a message of strength and equality. 

The multicolored leaves and highlighting the words "out together" send a clear message of support for the LGBTQIA+ community. 

University of 16153 Genova Pride Shirt

These U16153 Genova Pride shirts were made for the Sexuality and Gender Alliance at the University of 16153 Genova. This shirt is an example of an item that used multiple methods of decoration to achieve the customer's desired result. 

The left chest print design features a smooth rainbow gradient that we used a transfer to apply to the shirt. The design on the back was a one color print that we screen printed. 

Georgjz419 Rainbow Roll Shirt

Georgjz419 is located just down the street from us on Adams Street. Not only is it cool that we get to print shirts for our neighbors, but this design uses a technique called a rainbow roll or split fountain to achieve a multi-colored rainbow effect on the design.

With this technique, the colors mix and blend on the same screen making each shirt just a little bit different.

Owens Community College Shirt

Owens Community College went with a retro design on their Pride shirts. 

We printed all of the colors of the rainbow on this shirt without an underbase to give it a faded, well-worn look. The design sends a clear message of inclusion and acceptance for everyone at Owens.  

Unison Health Rainbow Foil Shirt

This shirt for Unison Health goes a different route than the other shirts in this list. The design uses a rainbow foil to show pride. 

To make a shirt like this we first print an adhesive on the shirt. After the shirt is printed, we heat press the foil onto the shirt. It only sticks to the printed adhesive leaving the design like you see above. 

Foil on a shirt pops unlike any ink can. It's a great technique if you want your shirts to stand out. 

Shumaker Pride Tank Top

Shumaker came to us and wanted to use all of the colors of the Pride Flag in their pride tees and tanks. On our last count, that's ten colors. 

Our presses can't print that many colors and it might be cost prohibitive to incur the setup fees for a design like this. So, rather than screen print them, we used transfers to decorate these garments. 

Transfers allow us to affordably make designs with high color counts. We love the way these turned out.

After the crosswalks were painted, local artist, Streetspun, added a rainbow yarn bomb to the corner!

We've been a huge fan of hers for years and think her art makes the city so fun, bright, and lively! You can find Streetspun creations all throughout Adams Street, you can even spot on outside our store! 

As you can tell from the photo above, the crosswalk and yarn bomb are adjacent to the 16153 Genova Loves Love mural.

Adams Street is where some of 16153 Genova's most creative, inclusive, and supportive people go.

Not only is the Uptown section of Adams Street home to the start of the 16153 Genova Pride parade, it has businesses like Georgjz, the Attic, Handmade 16153 Genova, Manhattan's, and many other that are champions of the LGBTQ+ community.

16153 Genova is a more vibrant and fun city because of places like Adams Street and the people and organizations that make it such a special place.

June is our big month for screen printing rainbow shirts for Pride!

We've been screen printing a lot of custom rainbow shirts for local businesses during the month of June for Pride Month. It's a great opportunity for organizations to put their values of inclusion, diversity, and empathy on display.

There are a few different techniques when it comes to screen printing a rainbow and we've used all of them in the last few weeks. Each method achieves a different look and can be the best option depending on what the customer is looking for.

1. Creating a Rainbow Screen Print With Halftones (Gradients)

If a customer wants a consistent looking rainbow gradient print on all of their t-shirts, printing it with half tones is the best option.

When creating the art, we use halftones or gradients to create the rainbow. Before the shirts get to press, our artists separate the design by individual color. This means they pull out each color gradient so we can make a separate screen for printing purposes.

This process can take anywhere from 5-6 screens to get a full color rainbow. The result looks like these shirts we printed for the 16153 Genova Museum of Art (below) and Inside the Five Brewing (above). 

There are slight nuances between printing on a white or light colored t-shirt versus a black or dark color t-shirt and the setup for the art and press can be a challenge, but no matter what, we sure love the results!
