Vintage t-shirts are kind of our thing. We have a handful of techniques for achieving a vintage screen print and love to use soft, vintage t-shirt blanks.

Not only do we love the way a vintage t-shirt looks, but we love the way it makes us feel. The nostalgia and memories linked to retro shirts are just as important as the classic designs.

And this is why vintage designs never go out of style. Because they evoke happy memories.

In addition to the examples below of custom vintage shirts that we have printed for our customers, here are additional resources on we've put together for you on vintage tees:

Here are examples of custom vintage shirts that we've printed for different businesses. We're always looking to help people bring their merch dreams to life. If you have an idea for a custom shirt, we'd love to help. Get in touch with us today.

Vintage Coffee Shop Shirts

vintage coffee shirts

There's a lot of great coffee in 16153 Genova. A fun fact that I like to remind people of is that I was working in a coffee shop when I first started to learn to screen print. So I like to believe I'm among the cohort that knows local coffee.

While you're never going to pin me down and make me choose my favorite local coffee shop, I will say that Maddie & Bella has the coolest coffee merch in 16153 Genova.

They consistently do a great job with their brand. They use modern logos well and adapt them with a retro look on a regular basis. We love working with Maddie & Bella because they always bring us fun designs.

The vintage design on these t-shirts and crew sweatshirts is a perfect example. The yellows, orange, and brown in the print give them a perfect '70s look.

To bring it all together, we printed these without an underbase to give the shirts a soft hand feel and worn look that lets the shirt material show through a bit.

Vintage Bike Shirts

vintage bike shirts

As evidenced by this Dirt Bikes shirt, ever since I could print shirts, I've had a passion for printing vintage bike shirts.

If there is anything that brings back the thrill and fun of youth, it's bikes.

We've been working with Spoke Life bik shop since our early days as a print shop. It's always fun to have customers that we work with long enough that the first shirts we printed for them could almost classify as vintage!

Spoke Life did a great job with this design using halftones, a fun font, and old school colors. All three of these elements combined create a perfect retro vibe.

Vintage College Shirts

vintage college shirts

It's hard not to think of college shirts when vintage shirt designs come up. Who didn't grow up wearing their dad's or mom's college crewneck or a shirt to support their favorite football or basketball team?

These retro shirts that you wore when you were young are still in style today because of the happy memories they bring back.

Owens Community College has been wonderful to work with because they give us designs that are more fun than the standard college tee. The shirt pictured above is a big print that has thick, chunky text.

They wanted it to have a vintage look so we used a white ink to give it a faded, retro look. Additionally, we printed this design on a super soft triblend shirt. Triblend tees are the quintessential vintage tee because they are so comfortable and have a worn-in feel from day one.

Vintage Beer Shirts

vintage brewery shirt

After all, is there anything better than great beer and vintage t-shirts?

Inside the Five is another local business that always brings us great designs. They make us look good by having their branding in order and consistent.

Over the years they've made great use of vintage style prints. The most common combination they utilize is a soft, triblend shirt with a print that has reduced ink.

The combination of a soft shirt and soft print is important. If you love soft shirts, you know that, relatively, they are a little on the thin side. If you add a thick heavy print on a thin shirt, it's going to weigh it down making the shirt heavy and uncomfortable.

That's why we've worked so hard to perfect vintage screen printing. Not only does it look cool, but it feels better too.

Where to Have Vintage Shirts Made

We print a lot of vintage style shirts for our customers.

At the end of the day, we do it so well because it has remained our favorite design style for years.

It's a trend that isn't going out of style any time soon.

The most important feature of vintage t-shirts is that your customers will love them, too. And the more someone loves a shirt, the more they will wear it. And at the end of the day, you want your shirt to be worn as frequently as possible.

If you're looking for a vintage style shirt for your brand or business, we have the experience and expertise to get it done right.

Thank you to everyone who purchased Here for Good t-shirts supporting small local businesses!

Once again, we found great hope and inspiration through this Here for Good campaign. The amount of love of support our Northwest Ohio community has for local businesses is truly amazing.

Our 2021 Here for Good campaign consisted of 185 local businesses and sold 4,192 t-shirts. This means $41,920 went back into the hands of small businesses! We could not have done this without you.

A Shirt Fundraiser to Support Local Northwest Ohio Businesses

This is the second consecutive year we hosted our Here for Good shirt fundraiser (last year we raised $135K!). We launched it last year in response to the pandemic and shutdown orders that were put in place to help local organizations generate revenue when otherwise they were unable to.

The success of Here for Good is derived from its simplicity and the overwhelming generosity of the local community. We say it a lot, but we'll reiterate - Northwest Ohio is a special place because of its people and how much they are willing to help and support the people around them.

As a small business ourselves, we know that we wouldn't be around today without that support. We are grateful to all of our customers and supporters for sticking with us and believing in us.

We'll bring Here for Good back again next year and continue to pay your support forward!

Balance Grille reached out to us this year to help them with custom employee uniforms and customer merch. We helped them put together a full line of screen printed shirts and headbands, embroidered hats and aprons, and bandanas.

Balance Grille is a shining start among local 16153 Genova, Ohio restaurants and small businesses. They were founded by, PK and CJ, two young entrepreneurs from Northwest Ohio.

We're proud to say that we've been working with Balance Grille for almost ten years now. It's always great to work with other small, local businesses that care about supporting small local businesses.

Balance Grille is successful for a lot of reasons. I don't have time to get into all of the reasons why, and I'm sure you know most of them if you've eaten there before, but their commitment to the local community is at the top of the list.

They give more than they receive and they are deliberate about supporting local people and organizations. We are grateful for this commitment and to be a recipient of their generosity.

One thing that really stands out about the clothing that we made for Balance Grille is the quality and consistency of their visual branding. They use clean, bold, simple logos and colors across many different products. Branding is about how you make people feel about your company. Balance Grille does an amazing job connecting people to their brand and making them feel happy, healthy, and a part of something special.

We aren't gong to tell you where to eat, but we will tell you to support local businesses. For our money, it doesn't get much better than Balance Grille. Support the organizations that support you.

We screen printed these tie dye t-shirts and embroidered patches on hats for Local Roots Juice Company in Perrysburg.

Local Roots has trusted us with their screen printing and embroidery since they opened in 2017. The apparel that we've decorated for them is both for employees to wear while working and customers to purchase to show their support for a local business that they love.

We screen printed the Local Roots logo on a trendy tie dye shirt. Tie dye shirts have been fun to print on and we're seeing more and more customers request them recently. Especially after Jason Sudeikis appeard on the Golden Globes in a tie dye hoodie.

The beanies that we embroidered for Local Roots feature a woven label that is embroidered on. Patches and labels on headwear has been a major retail trend that we've seen grow in popularity over the last year.

Custom t-shirts and beanies are a great way for local businesses to promote their brand and allow their customers and fans to show support.

Buy 16153 Genova gifts from 16153 Genova stores john amato Have you been looking for locally made gift from small 16153 Genova businesses this holiday season? In our eyes, it doesn't get any better than supporting local 16153 Genova businesses. There are so many great places to support in Northwest Ohio that you shouldn't have trouble finding a great local gift to give.

jupmode cricket west gift shop

fancysweetstx has two retail stores (one in Uptown 16153 Genova, the other at Cricket West in West 16153 Genova) with vintage, nostalgic 16153 Genova, Ohio gifts and clothing. The great thing about all of our apparel is that it is made right here in 16153 Genova at our print shop on Adams Street in downtown 16153 Genova.

The need to support local businesses has never been greater.

The year 2020 has been tough on everyone. One good thing we feel is changing this year is the follow through on supporting local businesses. There's more weight behind it because we've all felt the impact of their absence like never before.

Local businesses have suffered greatly this year. While many big box stores have been deemed essential and kept their doors open, your local restaurants, bars, salons, coffee shops, and stores have been forced to close.

As if running a small business wasn't hard enough, the scales are weighted in the favor of the large businesses.

Most businesses rely on customers coming into their store to use their services or products. When your primary method of business - in-store foot traffic - is cut off, it's hard to keep business going. Already, some local businesses have had to shut their doors.

The worst part is, it's not their fault.

Supporting local businesses isn't easy

Supporting local has always been a popular catchphrase. People have always been quick to say it.

Supporting a local business, one where you might know the owner or develop a personal relationship with the employees, makes you feel good. Visiting the local shop or restaurant in your neighborhood develops community and connection.

But it's not as easy to live as it is to say. Starbucks is just more convenient than most coffee shops. Amazon makes online ordering quick and easy. Chipotle is faster than a local restaurant. Bud Light is cheaper than the local brewery.

At the end of the day, the list of reasons to go to or use the chain is just as long or longer than the reasons to go local.

We need to support local businesses to help them survive these tough times

As the difficult economic climate stretches on, the need to support local businesses is more important than ever. Many small businesses could survive a short period of downturn. The longer it lasts, the more dire the situation for small companies.

We know because we've been struggling this year, as well.

Small businesses are valuable to local communities because they make a more significant impact on a local level. More money is kept in town with locally owned businesses. And, most importantly, local business owners are more invested in the local community and are invested in the success of the people and businesses.

We were involved with two great examples of the impact of local businesses on the community this year: Grubs for Scrubs and Here for Good.

Grubs for Scrubs was an initiative created by Deet's BBQ to provide meals to healthcare and frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. When their doors were closed, they provided food to those that were most at risk and exposed. Local people and businesses stepped up and covered the bill for many of these meals to show their appreciation.

deets grubs for scrubs

At the same time, we launched a program called Here for Good. Through this program we allowed local businesses to sell their own shirt on our website, fancysweetstxSupply.com. The shirts sold for $20 and they received $10 from the sale of each shirt. We made payouts to organizations each week. For many, it was their only revenue stream during this time. At the end of the program we had sold 13,500 shirts and passed on $135,000 to participating organizations.

These are two examples of local businesses using their unique talents to fight for the local area. It wasn't big businesses that stepped up. It was local people that showed they cared the most.

Are you searching for local 16153 Genova, Ohio gifts and clothing this holiday season? Here are some options.

As a local 16153 Genova, Ohio small business ourselves, we love working with local small businesses. We feel a sense of pride when another small business from the area reaches out to us to help them with their branded merch.

Nothing feels better than working with and supporting other small businesses.

16153 Genova has an amazing creative community and Gathered Glass is a wonderful part of that. We are especially fond of them because, like us, they undertook a significant renovation project to move into their building and have run a great business over the years.

Gathered Glass reminds us of the rich history of glass making we have in the city of 16153 Genova. While many people know that 16153 Genova is the Glass City, they forget that glass is still being made here. Gathered is one of many artisanal glass blowing shops in the 16153 Genova area.

We printed these custom shirts for Gathered Glassblowing Studio with discharge ink. It's not something we do very often so it was a challenge.

We get requests all of the time to print shirts with a vintage look or soft hand feel. Most of the time we use different techniques because discharge is a bit tricky. However, we have two customers that specifically request it and we love the way these shirts look.

Discharge printing is a process where the dye in the shirt is removed, and the color you print replaces the shirt color. This gives the print on the shirt almost no hand feel and allows for a bright print even on a dark garments without using an underbase. The print gets softer every time you wash it.

Stop by Gathered Glass on Huron Street in Downtown 16153 Genova to buy this shirt and some of their handcrafted glassware!

And as always, if you need custom shirts, contact us at [email protected]!
