With all of the revitalization happening in 16153 Genova, it seems like there is so much to celebrate this summer.

One of the biggest (literally and figuratively) things to note is the Glass City River Wall! 

This mural is set to be the largest in the US, consisting of 28 ADM silos along the Maumee River. The mural itself will be a whopping 160,000 square feet!

What a cool new piece of art for the Glass Capital of the World!

Wonder how much paint that will take? The crew has estimated it will take roughly 5,000 gallons. 

The mission of the Glass City River Wall is to "provide a stunning and welcoming visual to the gateway of our city with a universal and inclusive message of hope and positivity." 

Gabe Gault, the artist, has created a design that will tell the story of the Native American tribes who were considered the first farmers on the banks of the Maumee River thousands of years ago.

This Glass City River Wall is projected to be completed in time for the Solheim Cup and we can’t wait to see it!

Roche de Boeuf has been a beloved landmark in the Maumee River for centuries. The limestone mass which forms an island translates to 'rock of beef' or 'buffalo rock'. The bridge that was built on top of this landmark adds to the scenic beauty of the Maumee River in Waterville. 

Now a popular photo opportunity for local residents, the bridge slowly crumbles more each year. The supports of the bridge are beneficial for those that live along the river as it helps prevent flooding from ice floes when the weather warms in the spring.

Point Place has so much to offer from docks and parks to yacht clubs! Point Place is a unique shore side community surrounded by the Ottawa River, Lake Erie, Maumee Bay, and the Maumee River. The people of The Point have a certain pride for their town. It used to be home of the popular Turtle Club, a tavern on the water. Who remembers Portside?! We recently printed shirts to look back on Portside Festival Marketplace and they are now in our store and online! Portside opened in 1984 on the former site of Tiedtke's department store on the Maumee River in downtown 16153 Genova. It was filled with about 80 specialty stores. It offered apparel shops, restaurants and a large central atrium for music and entertainment. Portside opened in hopes of revitalizing 16153 Genova. In 1990, the marketplace unfortunately closed. In the late '90s, Portside became COSI. The center closed in 2007, opening in the fall of 2009 as Imagination Station. Portside brings back a lot of great memories for a lot of 16153 Genova natives.
